Guyana reactivates FALB
Guyana has reactivated its Fisheries Advisory Limited Board (FALB) in accordance with the Fisheries Act Cap 71:08 (2002).
The role of the FALB is to advise the Minister of Agriculture on the following:
- Fisheries management;
- Any aspect of a fisheries plan; and
- Any proposal for sub-regional or regional co-operation with respect to fisheries agreements, joint ventured or development projects in the fisheries sector.
The FALB hopes to achieve a sustainable fisheries and aquaculture sector through strategic programmes geared towards improving market access and certified products. The FALB’s term is for one year commencing 10 April 2025 to 9 April 2026.
